WWE Night of Champions is set to take place at the Jeddah Super Dome in less than a week. The Saudi premium live event will be memorable and historic for many reasons.
Roman Reigns would reach the 1000-day mark as Universal Champion, an astonishing feat in today’s era of pro wrestling. A new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned as AJ Styles and Seth Rollins clash for the championship. Every active title on the main roster will be at stake in the show.
As a result, given the number of titles being defended at WWE Night of Champions, we could see quite a few champions crowned in Jeddah.
Below are three championships that could change hands at WWE Night of Champions:
#3. Austin Theory’s “Forever” United States Championship reign comes to a screeching halt
Austin Theory was one of SmackDown’s most valuable acquisitions during the 2023 WWE Draft. The 25-year-old was hoping to add the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist, but his aspirations were quickly ended when he failed to advance in the tournament.
To make matters worse for Theory, he now finds himself in Sheamus’ target territory—a multiple-time world champion in the midst of a late-career resurgence.
The Celtic Warrior knocked Austin Theory’s teeth down his throat with a devastating brogue kick on SmackDown, announcing he was coming for the US Title.
An official US Championship match has not been announced, but Theory will inevitably have to defend her belt at Night of Champions, per the theme of the show. If so, his “forever” reign could end with another brogue kick.
# 2. Bianca Belair May Not Be Ready For Asuka At WWE Night Of Champions
Bianca Belair going up against Asuka at WrestleMania 39 was a questionable booking decision. The Queen of Tomorrow recently underwent a mighty makeover. With the momentum building up, it was Asuka’s time to shine.
However, WWE went the familiar route of the beloved Belair retaining her Raw Women’s Title. Luckily for Asuka, she finds herself again in Jeddah in EST, but this time her chances of bringing home the championship are much higher.
The Japanese star blinds the champion with a mist of poison, stuns him and forces a way into EST’s head. Furthermore, the rumor mill indicates that Bianca Belair may soon be in line for a heel turn.
Losing the massive title to Asuka at WWE Night of Champions could be a fitting catalyst to lay the groundwork for an impending character change.
#1. Roman Reigns may get all the gold in Jeddah
Roman Reigns thrust himself into the tag division after The Usos failed to clinch the championship a few weeks back. Tribal Chief announced that he would be teaming with Solo Sequoia to take the titles away from Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
Considering the growing friction and animosity between Reigns and The Usos, Jimmy and Jey may have intentionally or unintentionally caused The Tribal Chief to lose at WWE Night of Champions. However, no one can bet against The Head of the Table and The Enforcer.
Sequoia has only been pinned twice on the main roster and has consistently proven his loyalty to Reigns. Thus, there is no possibility of betrayal. As far as Roman Reigns is concerned, he has not been pinned for more than three years. Plus, Night of Champions will mark his 1000th day on top of the mountain, and not an appropriate way to celebrate such an accomplishment.
So Roman Reigns can win all the gold at WWE Night of Champions.
