The horrifying and explicit phone calls include a Subway spokeswoman detailing getting “the nice, pure bodies” of “whatever age we want” and other children in Thailand.
Warning: This article contains horrifying quotes from Jared Fogle’s actual phone calls, in which he detailed the sexual abuse of children.
Jared Fogle’s crimes were detailed in a new ID documentary, “Jared From Subway: Catching a Monster,” which includes real-life phone calls by a Subway spokesperson planning and bragging about sex with children.
Fogle is currently serving 15 years in prison for sex crimes involving minors — but getting him behind bars hasn’t been an easy task. In the doc, journalist Rochelle Herman recounts how they spent years trying to arrest him after he shockingly admitted to them that he had sexually assaulted middle school-age girls prior to an interview she did with him for Sarasota TV. found “hot” off-air. station.
She was scared, but she didn’t have any evidence at that time so she didn’t go to the police immediately. Instead, he began speaking with her on the phone, recording their calls as he became more comfortable sharing his warped thoughts, plans, and actual crimes.
Herman said in the doc, “I gave the impression that I was someone he could confide in,” claiming that at first he was very “flirtatious” with her, going so far as to invite her to his hotel room. and asked her to put her hair in pigtails. She quit, but still maintained a long distance phone relationship with him. Eventually, he asked her what struck her about the “very young” guys—with Fogle acknowledging, “They just have such nice, pure bodies, you know?”
At one point, he asked “how young” he wanted his sexual partner, to which Fogle replied, “I don’t know, middle school or whatever.” When she asked, “Like 9 or 10?”, he told her, “Yeah, it’ll be hot. It’ll be really hot.”
As the conversation continued, Fogle asked “what kind of dear friends” her two children had, telling Herman, “I think the girl from the broken home might be a possibility, you know?” With that, she went to the FBI with her recordings — and then began working with the agency for years, listening to their sick fantasies and real-life experiences.
At one point, she asked about the youngest person with Fogle, as she said, “I think 11 or 12 … I can’t remember his name.” Unfortunately, since there was no physical evidence of anything and the FBI could not locate any actual victims, they delayed making any arrests.

As their conversation continued, Fogle was heard describing in horrifying detail his “most unique” experience.
“I mean it was definitely Thailand. I’d like you to go with me. We can get to whatever age we want. It’s just crazy, it’s easy there,” he said. “Different ages. I mean you just choose who you want and there’s a price for it and off you go.”
According to Harman, Fogle often saw the same 10–11-year-old boy in the country, as onlookers heard him describe a conversation, “So, so ******* hot.” When she noted that it was not possible for her to “be in Thailand all the time”, she responded to him by saying, “No, that’s why I have to find some stuff here, you know?”
By 2009, the FBI planned a sting operation with Harman expecting Fogle to travel to Florida with the specific intent of having sex with a minor. Herman invited her to Sarasota for his son’s birthday party and, as they talked about the festivities, the conversation quickly turned sexual — comments made by Fogle that are too disturbing to share here. .
In one call Herman asked Fogle if there was “any personality type” to look for in selecting the children. “I think the girl from the broken house could be a possibility, you know,” he said. When she reminded him that the girl was only seven years old, he simply told her, “Well, tell me about her.”

However, their conversation took a more personal turn when Fogle began asking about Herman’s own children.
“Will you do whatever I ask you to do? Will you let me see your children naked?” he asked her in a call. “What if we put a camera in your kids’ rooms? Will they be okay with it? Would you rather put it in your son’s or your daughter’s room? Which one do you think would be better? Let me know.”
The party never took place and the initial FBI investigation did not lead to arrests. Herman also turned to the local police department for help, but their hands were also tied. Fogle would not be arrested until the FBI began looking into his business partner, Russell Taylor, as part of the bestiality investigation. That search led to a child porn investigation after hidden cameras and images were found inside Taylor’s home — some of which were sent directly to Fogle.
Looking back on how involvement with Fogle’s case affected him in the long run, Herman said, “The toll working undercover for the FBI took a huge toll on my health.”
He said, “The PTSD I’ve experienced because of this has been debilitating. I truly believe that when someone goes through such a stressful situation for so many years, it makes you susceptible to other things.” Is.” Sympathetic dystrophy.
Herman said that while he had no regrets about helping Fogle’s victims, he said that he “torn off my relationship with my children.” Her son – who moved to Taiwan – also said it strained relations between him and both his sister and mother.
At the end of the doc, Herman expresses dismay at Fogle’s final sentence – saying, “There are 14 victims. How is 15 years enough?”
