This week is a big one for Boku no Hero Academia fans and the manga world as a whole. The fourth film of the series was released and had the strongest opening in the first three days compared to any previous ones.
But the big news is that the manga is ending after a fantastic decade-long run, with the final chapter officially out on Sunday, August 4th. The chapter is already available online for eager fans.
Boku no Hero Academia has been one of the most important manga series in the past 20 years, and its legacy deserves a lot of discussion. However, our focus here is on the anime. It’s expected to end after this season and possibly one more, unless the creators decide to extend it with more movies.
This season, the anime centers on three major battles. Shigaraki causes chaos inside the Yuuei dome, Touya confronts his brother, and All For One nears the end of his fight with Team Endeavor. Meanwhile, Skeptic is attempting to hack into the Yuuei control systems.
He’s not doing it out of loyalty to All For One or Shigaraki, but rather following what he believes would be Re-Destro’s wishes.

The underlying themes in HeroAca add to the drama. As All For One and Shigaraki clash, it becomes clear how different they are.
All For One wants to rule, while Shigaraki seeks destruction. Despite their conflicting goals, All For One plans to take over Shigaraki eventually. But right now, he has more pressing issues. Endeavor’s latest attack forced him to reveal a trump card sooner than planned.
Thanks to Doc Garak, All For One can use Eri’s “Rewind” ability in a powerful way. It can heal him and make him younger, but there’s a catch. Once it starts, it can’t be stopped, and he’ll keep getting younger whenever he’s hurt.

This isn’t a problem if his grand plan works out, but it does put him on a timer. Hawks figures this out and tries to buy time. All For One loves to talk, which gives Hawks a bit of a break. He even talks about his love for comics, specifically using the word “komikku” and not “manga.”
This reflects Boku no Hero Academia‘s creator, Horikoshi-sensei’s, influences and adds to what makes the series unique.

In Kamino, Dabi is fighting with Shouta’s ice-fire ability. Shigaraki is destroying everything he touches, including Mirko, making the situation seem more hopeless. Bakugo is still unconscious, with Jeanist only able to make small repairs. But Edgeshot shows up, claiming he can use his “Foldabody” quirk to save Bakugo by entering his body and fixing him from the inside, which is like performing CPR.
This looks like a suicide mission for Edgeshot since using his ability like this drains his life force. However, saving Bakugo is crucial for the future. The heroes aim to delay Shigaraki to give Edgeshot and Midoriya time to act.
Mirko, along with Mirio, Hado, and Tamaki, fight valiantly. However, Shigaraki is annoyed that the heroes are trying to fix what he has already destroyed. Once he defeats Hado and Tamaki, he barely acknowledges Lemillion as a threat.
Lemillion, or Tintin as some call him, has a quirk that seems weak alone. He’s at his best when supporting others or using his determination. Despite this, he’s admired for making the most out of his abilities.
He tries to distract Shigaraki with antics, and it works just long enough to lower the electromagnetic shield for two seconds, allowing Deku to enter while keeping Shigaraki inside.
Now, the main players are set to face off. While neither All For One nor All Might are at full strength, the latter is no longer the powerhouse he once was. The plan to separate All For One and Shigaraki has worked so far, but with All For One using the rewind ability, both sides are racing against time.
