Skoda India launched the current outgoing Superb in January 2021. The model hasn’t changed much since then, but the car still looks like new despite the lack of upgrades. Skoda launched the facelifted version of the Superb with a new variant. The first of these new variants was the Sportline variant and the new Laurin & Klement variant. Prices for the new Superb Sportline start at Rs 34.17 lakh and go up to Rs 37.27 lakh for the top-spec L&K variant.
With the update, Skoda introduced the new Superb with a host of enhancements. Starting with the new updated Adaptive LED headlight unit, the headlights now get an extremely streamlined and seamless blend with the Superb’s redesigned radiator grille. In addition, the redesigned headlights come with LED turn indicators and arrival/depart home feature as standard. The Adaptive LED headlights of the new Superb are known to provide excellent illumination.
The upgraded Skoda Superb also gets an 8.0-inch floating infotainment system as part of the new update. It has a better user interface and a proximity sensor. The infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay connectivity option and Android Auto as standard. It also gets features like wireless charging system, piano black theme as well as a few other tweaks for the Lauryn and Klement variants. Stone Beige or Coffee Brown are the available color options for upholstery in this luxury saloon.
Updates were also made to the steering wheel. With the updated Skoda Superb, a two-spoke steering wheel with the Laurin & Klement inscription was introduced for the first time. Apart from this, the car also gets 360-degree camera view with park assist in the L & K variants. Meanwhile at the other end of the lineup, the Sportline iteration of the Superb gets a redesigned flat-bottom steering wheel with three spokes and a carbon motif. The seats in the Sportline variant come with a new virtual cockpit with headrest-integrated black Alcantara sports seats.
As far as the powertrain is concerned, the Skoda Superb comes only with a petrol engine. The Superb is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox as standard.
