CNN’s Cassie Hunt’s new baby has arrived — but not in the way she expected

Cassie Hunt had plans to welcome her baby girl into the world, but her daughter Grey, had other plans.

Hunt is best known as a political reporter for CNN in Washington, DC and the network’s chief national affairs analyst.

Hunt and her husband, Matthew Mario Rivera, welcomed daughter Gray Hunt Rivera on March 1. according to people magazine,

But Gray, weighing 8 lb., 4 oz. At birth, she wasn’t born in the hospital — she passed out at home in the bathroom “13 minutes after her sudden labor,” according to People.

It’s been a complicated year for Hunt.

Hunt, 36, had a benign brain tumor removed in October 2021 and called the diagnosis “very real” at the time.
