In episode 2, when Karen suggests they rename the group The Six, Eddie states the obvious: there are only five of them. But the keyboardist nods subtly to Camila, who says, “Thank you.”

Aspiring photographer Camilla not only helps convince Karen to join The Dune Brothers, she also does mail and phone outreach, trying to get music execs to see the band’s shows. (A future episode reveals another important contribution from Camilla to the legacy of Daisy Jones and the Six.)

“I like to think of Camila as the glue that holds it all together,” says Camila Morrone, her portraitist. “There’s a very quiet, powerful energy to her. You don’t realize how essential her character is to the formation of the band and the continuity of the band until sort of episode 10, when things take a turn.
