Demon Lord 2099’s First Promo Video Unveiled: Shiyui’s ‘Hollow’ Theme Will Blow You Away

The Aniplex Online Fest 2024 event just gave us a sneak peek at the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Demon Lord 2099. This new series is based on the light novels by Daigo Murasaki and Kureta. The first promo video was revealed, and it’s already creating a buzz.

The video shows off the opening theme song “Hollow,” performed by Shiyui. If you’re into catchy anime openings, this one is definitely worth checking out!

But that’s not all. The anime is set to stream on Crunchyroll in English-speaking countries, Latin America, and Europe. So, no matter where you are, you’ll be able to catch it.

The show is making its debut on October 12 at midnight (or 12:00 a.m. October 13) on Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11. Later that night, it will also air on MBS, and on October 13, it will be shown on AT-X. If you miss it on TV, don’t worry. It will be available for streaming in Japan on d Anime Store and ABEMA.

The anime features an impressive cast. Satoshi Hino will voice the Demon Lord Veltol, and Miku Itō will play Machina. Other notable cast members include Daisuke Namikawa as the legendary hero Graham, and Masaya Matsukaze as the demon lord Marcus. Shizuka Itō will play Marcus’ secretary, Kinohara, with Hana Hishikawa as Takahashi.

The anime is directed by Ryo Ando at J.C. Staff, known for his work on 86 and Double Decker! Doug & Kirill. Yūichirō Momose, who worked on So I’m a Spider, So What? and The Witch and the Beast, is in charge of the series scripts. Character designs are by Ryousuke Tanigawa, who worked on One Punch Man (TV 2). The sound director is Jin Aketagawa, and Tatsuya Katō is composing the music.

Sekai will perform the ending theme song “Spira,” alongside Shiyui’s opening theme “Hollow.”

For those who want to dive into the story, Yen Press is releasing the novels in English. The plot is set in the year 2099 in a futuristic city called Shinjuku. Despite its bright exterior, there’s a dark secret lurking beneath. The Demon Lord Veltol is back to claim his place in this high-tech world.
