Exciting news for anime fans! The highly anticipated Grisaia: Phantom Trigger anime has just dropped a new promotional video. And guess what? It reveals that the anime will now debut in January 2025. Originally, fans were expecting the anime to release this year, but it looks like we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer.
The promo video didn’t just reveal the release date. It also shared some details about the team behind the anime. The director of the show will be Kōsuke Murayama. If you’re a fan of Grisaia, you’ll be happy to know that the animation will be handled by Bibury Animation Studio.
They are the same studio that worked on the game’s OVA and its sequels. Akio Watanabe, who has been involved with Grisaia for a long time, is back as the character designer and the chief animation director. For music, the composers include Hitoshi Fujima, Yūsuke Takeda, and Fuminori Matsumoto, all from the group Elements Garden.
If you enjoyed the Grisaia: Phantom Trigger OVA from 2019, you’ll be glad to know that the same cast is returning. This includes talented voice actors like Maaya Uchida as Rena, Ayane Sakura as Tohka, Kaori Nazuka as Christina, and Atsumi Tanezaki as Murasaki. These characters have already made a big impact in the OVA, and now they’re coming back for the TV series.

The game was so popular that it got an OVA in 2019 and later a sequel called Grisaia: Phantom Trigger Stargazer, which hit theaters in 2020. The animation for Stargazer was funded through a crowdfunding campaign that reached its goal in just 24 hours.

Anime director Tensho played a huge role in bringing the Grisaia world to life on screen. He even founded Bibury Animation Studio just to produce the anime, making it the studio’s first major project. Tensho not only directed the anime but also wrote and supervised the scripts.
Akio Watanabe, who designed the characters for the games, took on the same role for the anime, ensuring that fans of the original visual novels would see their favorite characters just as they remembered them.
