Her son, Hikaru Tanaka, broke the news of her passing. He shared this heartbreaking update on X (formerly known as Twitter). Hikaru mentioned that his mother had been battling an undisclosed illness. Despite her health struggles, she continued to work with her usual passion and spirit.
Hikaru described his mother’s fight as both brave and inspiring. He expressed deep gratitude to her fans and colleagues for their support. Although the illness was not revealed, her strength and grace were evident to everyone who knew her.
Tanaka was celebrated for her roles in many other notable anime series. She voiced Konan in Naruto, Caster in Fate/Stay Night, Lisa Lisa in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and Francis Midford in Black Butler. Each of these characters benefited from her unique voice and talent.
