King Charles has “only one way” to get Prince Andrew out of the Royal Lodge, according to a close aide of the Duke of York
Andrew is refusing his brother’s request to move out of the 30-room mansion.
The Duke signed a long-term lease on the royal residence in 2003 and does not want to leave his home, which is estimated to be worth £30 million.
A close aide of Andrew told The Times: “The lease is in the Duke’s name so no one can take it away from him.

He continued: “It has never been suggested that it could be taken away from him.
“It is a long lease with 80 to 90 years left on it. It is a lease between him and the Crown Estate.
“It is not a matter for the King. It is a matter for the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
“The only way you can get him to bail out would be through an arrangement – he would have to agree.”
A friend of the Duke of York has criticized the king over his bid to get Andrew to leave the Royal Lodge.
He told the Daily Mail: “If Charles wants Andrew to play ball and help the family through this difficult time, aren’t there better ways of doing it?
“Why don’t you do the civilized thing, sit down and talk?
“If they need a house for William, perhaps Andrew should be told. Perhaps William should invite his uncle over for tea and explain.

“Or why doesn’t Charles invite his brother to a meeting and ask him if he will leave the Royal Lodge to help his nephew and the future of the monarchy? And agree on a program acceptable to both parties.
“Is a little decency that hard? At the heart of it all are real people.
“He just lost his mother. Who would want to be evicted from his brother after that?”
