Tu Jhootha Main Makkar Luv Ranjan is trying to make a perfect film for its audience but adding too much in everything
Star Cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Anubhav Singh Bassi, Dimple Kapadia, Boney Kapoor and an ensemble cast.
What’s good:The post-interval turmoil and the last 15 minutes where Dimple Kapadia decides to abandon this old concept and unleash her wildness.
What’s worse: The runtime and how everything in this world functions according to the convenience of its leads, making it all appear to be made up, including their reactions to things as they happen. Also, dialogues need to be forgotten, please.
Loo Break: Love tries to pack the old product with the new design packing, so the first half is completely predictable. The portions of the second half will also give you a hint.
View or not?:If you’re a fan of any of its lead stars, they’re the ultimate thirst trap. If you are looking for mindless viewing, Dimple Kapadia and Boney Kapoor will save you.
Language: Hindi.

Tu Jhootha Main Makkar Movie Review: Script Analysis
Luv Ranjan over the years has created a brand of cinema that is openly commercial, has no connection to the real world and has characters who behave at ‘Drama Level 101’. The filmmaker is least bothered about logic and probably thinks of some magic that is relevant to him. He gets back in the director’s chair to make a film with huge stars in front of his camera, which at its core takes a concept that’s already been done but packs it with a new wrapper, and he Works partially too.
As such, the way they present the conflicts in this world is quite innovative. They don’t introduce an antagonist, but they do make the ambition of one of the two a real problem. Now, to do this, they do a great job of writing Mickey’s family and his friend played by Anubhav. This leads to the setup and background being more exciting and colorful than actually the exposition of this entire show. The genuine humor and jokes emanate from the people around Ranbir and Shraddha and very rarely from them.
The fact that Luv Ranjan never really worries about the moral compass of his characters or himself ignores the fact that he shows a little girl making herself a peg with an apple drink , his main lady is introduced dancing on ‘mungda’ type. Singing lousy Hindi abroad, wearing the least possible clothes, people making politically incorrect statements, and everyone just looking pretty while flaunting their glamor in every possible way. But can we really ignore it is a question.
This leads us to the fact that how convenient everything is in this world. Quarrels never arise to stay, no one has any kind of problem in their life except how the main couple gets married and how the lady wears a kurta while she has a habit of wearing a bikini ‘all the time’ Because they are ‘progressive people’. But when the only son of the house walks away from his own engagement, people become very cold. Also, the reason why this happens is problematic in a way as it questions the girls who chose their career and place instead of marrying into a joint family.
Tu Jhootha Main Makkar Movie Review: Star Performance
Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor are a very brave casting choice considering that one cannot imagine the two in such a setup. For Ranbir, it is an easy character as he has made a career out of playing Casanova. When the camera super zooms in on Ranbir’s face, many people don’t look as attractive as Ranbir; Not many people can make dancing in a suit look that simple, and not many can act heartbroken like him. But why does Luv Ranjan dirty them with never-ending monologues? We understand that this is your USP but why kill it? After a point, our man is not even breathing while speaking dialogues at full speed. Also, he doesn’t even look 30 anymore.
Dimple Kapadia has got to be the best part of this film. The last 20 minutes are pretty choppy and that’s what makes them such a delight. His jokes are surprisingly so hilarious to the point ably supported by Boney Kapoor that they compensate for everything that is a flaw about the film.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar Movie Review: Direction, Music
Luv Ranjan is creating his own multiverse and is succeeding in creating a world. He knows what his audience is looking for and tries to deliver just that. The fact is that he knows that his monologues have become his high point somewhere and has combined so many of them throughout his output that after a point it feels like an overreaction. Add to that the montage style of filmmaking, where each scene is a separate episode and continuity in pace is lost.
Pritam makes for a very peppy album with a peppy Arijit Singh track and a wonderful Sunidhi Chauhan song. But what exactly is Shraddha’s introduction song? So disgusting, so bad and out of place. The camera is so obsessed with Ranbir that it objectifies the star to such an extent that in the first 30 minutes itself, it has focused enough on her nipple.
Tu Jhootha Main Makkar Movie Review: The Last Word
Tu Jhootha Main Makkar Luv Ranjan is trying to make a perfect film for its audience but adding too much to everything. This may be suitable for many and may be problematic for some and neither is wrong. Choose your poison wisely.
