Matthew McConaughey and his wife were aboard the Lufthansa flight that sent 7 people to the hospital after plummeting thousands of feet in severe turbulence… and she’s recounting their horrifying experience.
Camila Alves McConaughey shared a photo of the damage on Lufthansa Flight 469 after pilots in Washington DC were forced to make an emergency landing on Wednesday – they were bound for Germany from Austin, Texas, before turbulence and a steep drop in altitude hit.

Camilla’s picture shows the cabin in complete disarray, with food and clothes everywhere. She says she was told the plane dropped nearly 4K feet, “everything was flying everywhere.”
She also posted an update on their rescheduled flight, which got off to a harrowing start — the pilot told them they’d be in 45 minutes of turbulence while flying out of DC… which some PTSD has caused some past passengers. Had to trigger flight.
The airline’s Airbus A330 made headlines when unrest broke out in Tennessee… and at least one passenger was convinced they were about to die.
