MONOGATARI Series: OFF & MONSTER Ep 4 Recap

In Episode 4 of the MONOGATARI Series: OFF & MONSTER Season, we dive into an intense conversation between Nadeko and Ononoki. They talk about the recent events, where Nadeko managed to capture two of her past selves while Ononoki was dealing with being dismembered by the other two.

The duo starts worrying about what might happen next. They fear that Meek Nadeko might become a god because she’s so close to God Nadeko. If that happens, they could end up facing two gods, which sounds terrifying. But this seems like it might be a trick. Maybe this big showdown won’t happen at all.

Everything that Nadeko and Ononoki plan is based on the idea that God Nadeko is in control. But what if Meek Nadeko is actually in charge? If that’s true, then a lot of things start to make sense.

It looks like everything is a trap set by Meek Nadeko. Instead of being forced into situations, she seems to be orchestrating events to capture her current self. She even gave her clothes to Flirty Nadeko to charm the current Nadeko at school.

And if that didn’t work, Meek Nadeko lured Nadeko to Araragi’s house, where Wrathful Nadeko was waiting. Meek Nadeko’s plan is smart, and she even uses herself as bait.

Meek Nadeko’s strategy is all about appearing helpless. She uses this image to manipulate everyone around her. She’s actually the original Nadeko, the one all others come from, so she knows how to trick herself better than anyone else. This is because they are all separated by only a year in time.

The current Nadeko could have figured this out if she hadn’t been caught off guard by Wrath Nadeko’s words about her dreams. Nadeko has moved on from her obsession with Araragi, but now she has a new obsession: becoming a manga artist. This might be her way of escaping her past mistakes. She fears she’s only doing it to avoid dealing with her past.

Despite all this, current Nadeko is different. She’s learned from her past mistakes, which gives her an edge.

She understands what went wrong before and knows how to take advantage of it. This might be her key to defeating the other versions of herself. Let’s hope she keeps learning as she goes after the last two versions next week.
