Hey there! Have you heard the exciting news about N LITE’s new project? They just announced that their film called MFINDA is getting a manga adaptation! This is a big deal, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.
What is MFINDA?
MFINDA is a special kind of film that combines African and anime styles, which N LITE calls “AFRIME” or “afro-anime.” The story follows a young girl named Odi. One day, she finds herself traveling back in time. In the past, she meets another girl named Nasambi, and together they embark on an adventure. They have to face evil spirits to reclaim something very important called the Nkisi. Only then can Odi hope to return to her own time. Sounds like an amazing adventure, right?
Exciting News About the Manga
N LITE shared that the first volume of MFINDA: The Manga will be released in 2025. This manga will have a total of three volumes. The writing will be done by Christiano Terry, who is also the founder of N LITE. The art will be directed by Patience Lekien, the creator of MFINDA, and illustrated by Tom Lintern, a talented visual artist. To make this manga even more special, a Japanese team from D’Art Shtajio and Sakura Phoenix K.K. will help with planning and inking. The manga will be available in Japan and the U.S. Soon, we will learn more details about it!
Who is Involved in the Film?
The MFINDA film has a fantastic team behind it. Viola Davis and Julius Tennon from JuVee Productions are working with N LITE. They are joined by several experienced producers, including Masao Maruyama and Gisaburō Sugii. These people have worked on amazing projects like Spirited Away and Tokyo Godfathers, so we can expect great things!
N LITE’s Mission
N LITE has a big goal. They want to share stories from Black and Indigenous cultures while working with creators from all over the world. The AFRIME style is all about hand-drawn 2D animation. They plan to create more films and TV shows in this style. N LITE Japan is also busy working on new projects related to anime and manga.
