Nijisanji Surprises Fans with Anime Expo Concert Cancellations

Nijisanji fans were surprised and disappointed this week when they heard that the “NIJISANJI EN SUMMER JAM” and “Welcome to Wonder Wander World” concerts at Anime Expo 2024 were canceled. The announcement was made by ANYCOLOR Inc., Nijisanji’s parent company, and Anime Expo organizers, just weeks before the event.

The exact reason for the cancellation wasn’t given, but Nijisanji EN’s social media mentioned “recent developments” that made it impossible to create a great experience. Fans are now guessing why this happened, with some thinking it might be due to logistical or technical problems.

Even though the concerts were canceled, there’s still some good news for Nijisanji fans. The “NIJISANJI EN SUMMER JAM” will still happen, but online. Fans can watch a free live stream on the official Nijisanji YouTube channel on July 6th, the original concert date.

For those who bought tickets to the “Welcome to Wonder Wander World” concert featuring the popular ChroNoiR unit (Kanae and Kuzuha), Nijisanji has a different plan. They will offer special compensation, including “mini-live concert footage” just for ticket holders. This is meant to make up for the cancellation.

Anime Expo will still take place from July 4th to 7th in Los Angeles, California. Although there won’t be a live Nijisanji concert, there’s still lots to enjoy, like exhibitors, screenings, panels, and artist alleys for all anime fans.

The cancellation of the Nijisanji concerts is a letdown for fans excited about the first live Nijisanji event in North America. However, offering a free online stream of the “NIJISANJI EN SUMMER JAM” and exclusive content for “Welcome to Wonder Wander World” ticket holders shows Nijisanji’s dedication to its fans.
