A small film titled Kranti starring Rakendu Mauli and Bigg Boss fame Inaaya Sultana was released directly on Aha. It is directed by Bhima Shankar. Let’s see how is the film.

Story:

Ram (Rakendu Mauli), a police aspirant, and Sandhya (Inaaya Sultana) share a long-standing relationship. Sandhya urges Ram to talk to her father about their love so that they can get married and live happily ever after. The very next day, Sandhya is mysteriously murdered which leaves Ram shocked. He soon goes into depression mode. About a year after Sandhya’s death, Ramya (Sravani Shetty), who considers Ram her brother, goes missing. Ram soon returns to normal and starts searching for Ramya. During this, he comes to know some shocking things. What happened to Ramya? What are the details that surprised Rama? Did Ram save Ramya? The film has the answers.

Plus Points:

Women safety has been one of the most worrying things in India and the public is aware of the brutal incidents that have happened to women in the last few years. Kranti tackles this burning issue. The dialogues related to this aspect are well written. Although the task of gathering women to fight for their cause resembles Mahesh Babu’s Spider, the climax portions and scenes make up for it in this regard.

Protagonist Rakendu Mouli, who is a bundle of talent, excels in the role of Ram. As a man who goes through despair over the death of his beloved, Ram does well. He tried to carry the film on his shoulders. The leading lady Inaaya Sultana may be seen for a short while but she is fine in her role. She does what her character requires.

Sravani Shetty and Yamuna Srinidhi are decent in their respective roles. Other actors have done a satisfactory job. Moreover, the length of the film is around 90 minutes which becomes another significant advantage.

minus points:

It is not enough when the point taken is good, but it should be told in an interesting way so that the message is conveyed to the target audience in the right way. Unfortunately, that’s the problem with Revolution. Captivating narration is absent, and the film moves at a tortoise pace for the most part.

The monologue dialogue, awkward camera angles and lack of exciting sequences hamper the effect. There are many unnecessary scenes which could have been taken care of. The thrill factor that is needed for a film like this is missing.

Like the dialogue of the film, the makers were influenced by some mystery crime thriller films and hence there is a similarity between those films and Kranti. Editing is below average, as some scenes don’t have proper connection. Some parts went up.

technical aspects:

Gyan Singh’s music is fine. Cinematography by Kishore Boyadipu is fine. Production values are decent. Although the editing team could have done a better job.

Coming to director Bhima Shankar, he did below-par work with the film. His intention to make a film about women’s safety is good, but coming up with an impactful script required more effort. However, he extracted good performances from the cast.

Decision:

Overall, Revolution has a relevant point, but it is not presented brilliantly. Rakendu Mouli does well, and the climax to pre-climax parts are Revolution’s advantages. Soft execution and slow pace are the major issues with this crime thriller. The film ends with a just fine watch this weekend for its message.
