Patty Jenkins’ ‘Wonder Woman 3’ Not Moving Forward

Wonder Woman 3 is no longer in production. Warner Bros. will not be producing the third movie in Patty Jenkins’ trilogy with Gal Gadot as the title character, ET has confirmed.

There haven’t been any other choices made yet about Gadot’s involvement in the franchise or the creation of additional prospective Wonder Woman ventures.

A sequel to 2017’s Wonder Woman was released three years later. Gadot and Jenkins have yet to comment on the third movie’s situation.

The announcement follows the appointment of James Gunn and Peter Safran as the new co-chairs and co-CEOs of DC Films, a recently established business within WB.

The two dropped Wonder Woman 3 off their schedule, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which broke the news first. The publication also said that there is now no certainty on the fate of the Man of Steel, Black Adam, and Aquaman properties.

On Thursday, Gunn tweeted in response to THR’s report, saying that “part of it is true, some of it is half-true, some of it is not true, and some of it we haven’t decided if it’s accurate or not.”

“Building the next ten years of story takes time & we’re still just beginning,” he tweeted. “Although this first month at DC has been successful.” “Peter and I decided to lead DC Studios knowing we were entering a turbulent climate, both in the tales being told and in the audience itself, and there would be an inevitable transitional time as we went into delivering a cohesive story across film, TV, animation, and gaming,” Peter said.

However, Gunn wrote, “In the end, the creative potential and the chance to build upon what has so far worked in DC & to assist fix what has not were swamped by the negatives of that transitional period.” We can promise that everything we do is done in the service of the story and the DC CHARACTERS, which we know you cherish and which we have cherished our entire lives. We acknowledge that we cannot make everyone happy at every step of the journey.
