Holly Willoughby has thanked her outgoing co-star for “presenting 13 great years” after she announced she is leaving The Morning Show with immediate effect following an alleged feud between the pair.

In a brief statement after Mr Scofield announced his departure, Ms Willoughby thanked her former colleague for “all his knowledge, his experience and his humour”.

She said: “The sofa won’t feel the same without him.”

Metro.co.uk The report states that ITV has confirmed that Willoughby will return to the show on Monday 5 June, following the initial half-term break starting on Monday 22 May.

ITV is expected to announce who will host the program in the interim.

The news comes after Willoughby shared a brief statement on his Instagram Story acknowledging Scofield’s departure. Schofield did not mention his former co-host in his own statement that he was leaving the show with “immediate effect”.

His last ITV program was on Thursday 18 May, bringing his 21-year presenting role to an abrupt end.
