‘Queen Charlotte’ ranked on Netflix’s top 10 list by a new show

The reign of Queen Charlotte has come to an end. It’s not often I get to write a Netflix “dethrone” article for a literal queen, but here we are. The Bridgeton prequel mini-series has finally been superseded by a new series, one more byproduct of one more Netflix success.

The #1 spot on Netflix’s top 10 list is the new series XO, Kitty. It’s An Interesting Project, A TV Spin-Off Of The Netflix Series Movies, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, featuring Lana Condor. There are three of them, which aired from 2018 to 2021, and there currently appear to be no plans for a fourth film. Lana Condor has five other projects in the works, so she’s moving on for now.

Therefore, in the films raising Raj, Lara (Lana) is Jean’s younger sister, Kitty, played by Anna Cathcart. The new series is 10, 30-minute episodes, which is 5 hours long, which means it’s almost as long as all three To All The Boys movies put together. XO, Kitty didn’t debut at #1, I think I saw it too low on the list to begin with, but it seems to have caught on. The show is doing better reviews with critics than viewers, 80% versus 61%, but not so many reviews overall. Still, it’s doing well. It is not pitched as a miniseries, so it is likely that it will attempt to return for season 2.

Now the rest of the top 10 list is…interesting. A Conor McGregor documentary, McGregor Forever, is now #3. The very old movie is SWAT #4. Firefly Lane, which has now wrapped its last season, is #5 after previously being #1. Night Agent still hangs inside the top 10, Bridgerton soared due to Queen Charlotte’s popularity, and is #10. Netflix has started announcing a new list of renewals and cancellations. Raised to Guinea and Georgia Two After more seasons we haven’t heard anything since Season 2 in January. Unsurprisingly, Lockwood & Company, the YA supernatural drama, was canceled after one season.

Judging by the popularity of the To All The Boys movies, I bet XO, Kitty is going to top that for a while. Although Queen Charlotte was so popular, I’ll bet it could reclaim the top spot if people move on from Kitty quickly. We’ll have to wait and see.
