Anime Expo just happened, and fans are buzzing with excitement. Two big reveals were the “Re: ZERO” Season 3 premiere and a sneak peek at the “OVERLORD” movie. Let’s dive into the details!
Re: ZERO Season 3 Premiere
At the event, “Re: ZERO” fans were treated to a massive 90-minute first episode for Season 3. That’s right, a whole hour and a half! This episode condensed an entire volume of the novel into one single episode. Instead of spreading it out over several episodes, Studio White Fox decided to give fans a long episode packed with content.
The episode is mostly about setting the scene. There’s a lot of dialogue introducing new settings, characters, and the current state of affairs. If you’re hoping to see Subaru face new dangers right away, you might need to be patient. The first hour is all about building tension and setting up the story. But don’t worry, the last 20 minutes and a few heated moments give you a taste of the action to come.

Studio White Fox has done a great job with the animation, even better than previous seasons. The new director, Masahito Shahar, has made a bold move by giving us this 90-minute episode. This shows he understands the importance of setting up the story while also wanting to get to the action quickly.
OVERLORD Movie Sneak Peek
Now, let’s talk about the “OVERLORD” movie. Fans got to see the first 8 minutes, and it was action-packed! Demiurge makes a dramatic entrance to the Holy Kingdom, and we meet new characters. The blend of CGI and 2D animation looks amazing, and the movie quality is top-notch.

The biggest surprise? The OVERLORD movie will be shown in IMAX. This means a more immersive experience with enhanced audio and visuals. The movie is confirmed to be over 2 hours long, similar to the length of some popular anime movies like “Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel” and Demon Slayer.
The official release date in Japan is September 13th. For fans outside Japan, the wait might be 2 to 3 months. Considering recent trends, we might see it before Christmas.
