Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Anime Gets 4th Season

The popular show Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- is coming back for a fourth season. Kadokawa, the company behind the anime, shared this exciting news on Thursday. They even showed off a cool teaser picture and a special trailer video to get everyone hyped up.

But that’s not all. Shinichirō Ōtsuka, the artist who created the characters for the original Re:ZERO books, drew a special picture to celebrate the big announcement. It’s awesome to see how much love is going into this new season already!

The excitement doesn’t stop there. Just a day before, on Wednesday, the anime’s 66th episode introduced a new character named Rui, voiced by Konomi Kohara. Fans are already buzzing about what Rui will bring to the story.

Now, let’s talk about the third season for a moment. It’s been a wild ride! The first part, called the “Attack Arc,” started on October 2 with a super-long 90-minute episode. Then, the “Counterattack Arc” kicked off on February 5. Each part has eight episodes, and you can watch them on Crunchyroll as they come out. Oh, and before the TV premiere, some lucky fans in Japan got to see it early in theaters starting August 30.

The music for this season is fire too! Konomi Suzuki, who sang the opening songs for the first two seasons, is back with a rocking new song called “Reweave.” It’s got cool guitar vibes thanks to Tom-H@ck, and Sabō Karasuya wrote the words. Plus, the ending song, “NOX LUX,” is by MYTH & ROID, a music group that always brings something special.

If you’re new to Re:ZERO, here’s a quick recap. The first season hit screens back in April 2016 with 25 episodes. It’s based on a book series by Tappei Nagatsuki, and people loved it so much that Crunchyroll streamed it while it aired in Japan. Since then, there have been fun spin-off shorts, two special video episodes called Memory Snow and The Frozen Bond, and even an updated version of the first season called the Director’s Cut that came out in 2020.

The second season arrived in July 2020, though it got delayed a bit because of COVID-19. The second half aired in January 2021, and Crunchyroll kept streaming it for fans worldwide.
