The original golf anime series Sorairo Utility has revealed a brand new critical visual and confirmed its tee-off date for January 2025.
In Sorairo Utility, made by Yostar Pictures, Aoba Minami, is a high school student dying to know what her “special something” is. Having thought that she’s but a nameless existence, a nobody compared to everyone else, Minami goes on this quest for purpose, and in the process, she stumbles upon the world of golf.
This latest critical visual features the series’ central trio: Minami, Haruka Akane, and Ayaka Hoshimi. This is all smiles and enthusiasm as the girls clump together on some verdant green course, their brilliant green uniforms the lone contrast in an otherwise idyllic scene, conveying a sense of the lighthearted enjoyment and teamwork expected in Sorairo Utility.

This new series isn’t the first time Sorairo Utility has graced the screen. This story debuted in December 2021 as an exciting Japanese anime short by the famous director Akira Amemiya (known for Gridman Universe). This work quickly attracted attention and was released on Crunchyroll to be viewed worldwide.
Based on the short’s popularity, the Sorairo Utility TV anime now goes further into the stories of this group of young golfers. Kengo Saito, director, and character designer, will lead the creative team; he previously worked on the Sorairo Utility short and the Arknights anime PV.
Yu Sato, who is collaborating with Aya Satsuki and Aki Mizuki on the screenplay, is in charge of series composition. With this experienced team, Sorairo Utility is poised to deliver a captivating narrative that blends the thrill of competition with the joy of personal growth.

Voice actor-wise, the cast doesn’t change much compared to the anime short. Here, the same Miyu Takagi once again maintains her role as Minami Aoba, the girl who is not ready to give up; Yurina Amami and Ayasa Goto also return as Haruka Akane and Ayaka Hoshimi, respectively.
Other cast members include Yumiri Hanamori as Izumi Akina, a senior golfer who becomes a mentor to Minami, and the veteran voice actors Kazuhiko Inoue, Kenyu Horiuchi, and Toshiyuki Morikawa, who bring life to the various charismatic adult characters in the series.
With a charming premise, a talented production team, and a returning cast, Sorairo Utility is shaping up to be a must-watch in the next anime season.
