Susanna Reid has claimed she does not need a partner as she is ‘perfectly happy’ with her own company.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 52, was last known to be in a relationship with Crystal Palace FC chairman Steve Parish, 57, whom she started dating in August 2018 before their split nine months later.

Her previous partner was sports journalist Dominic Cotton, 55, whom she was with between 1998 and 2014 – they share sons Sam, 20, Finn, 18, and Jack, 17.

Detailing her routine, Susanna wrote in The Sunday Times Magazine: ‘My mornings are intense with the adrenaline of live news, so it’s hard to switch off.

‘I’m perfectly happy with my own company – I talk to people all day, I have a great team and I love my close-knit family – but I don’t need a partner. When the boys leave home, I know it’s going to be challenging.

‘I like light TV in the evening, nothing terrible. Bathing is a must, it totally de-stresses me. On a good night, I switch off the lights at 10 pm and fall asleep within minutes.

In her piece, Susanna acknowledges that there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes before viewers show up on the 6 a.m. box.

She offered a list of what an average day looks like, starting with a 3.40am wake-up call from her alarm clock.

Susanna revealed that she gives herself five minutes in bed to check her email and the day’s headlines before starting her day.

The mother of three said her day starts quite hurriedly as she throws a coat over her pajamas and brushes her teeth before getting into the car that has been dispatched to take her to the studio.

The time in the car is put to great use, as she swiftly grabs the briefs of the newspapers and interviewers who are on the show that day.

Susanna also takes the time to look at the stories that researchers and producers are putting together overnight.

She explained that the most important document she sees on the trip is known as the Grid, which gives the timing and key points for the show.

Susanna admits it is ‘a lot’ to take in during the 25-minute car journey from her home to the studios at the London Television Center in west London.

Once in the studio, Susanna sits down to get her hair and makeup done by a professional while she takes her first coffee of the day at 4.25am.

She said during this time she keeps catching up on any readings for the show.

Susanna said she would then be joined by the overnight editor for the show as well as the co-presenter for that particular day.

His co-stars are Richard Medley, Ed Bowles, Rob Rinder, Martin Lewis, Ben Shepherd or Adil Ray.

He joked that as Bruce Forsyth used to say, they’re all his favourites.

Susanna doesn’t manage to eat before the show, but she revealed that she tries to eat some sliced ​​apples and sunflower seed butter during commercials.

Once the cameras are turned off, Susanna goes home and tries to sleep for a few hours before getting up for lunch.

She said that she tries to eat healthy options such as grilled fish and veggies.

In the evenings, Susanna comforts her sons by cooking a home-cooked meal, which she said is often something like lasagna or roast.

It’s not a time for complete relaxation though, as she’s usually getting new details and talking to her editor about the next day’s schedule.

Susanna said she ends her day with some easy TV watching – ‘nothing terrible’ and enjoys taking a bath to relax before turning off the lights at 10pm.
