The Blue Wolves of Mibu: First Trailer, New Visual, Cast, and October Premiere

The much-awaited anime The Blue Wolves of Mibu just released its first exciting trailer and a new picture. Fans are really excited as the series is set to start in October 2024.

A Glimpse of the World

The Blue Wolves of Mibu” takes place in 1863, near the end of the shogunate era in Japan. The country is about to undergo big changes, and there’s a lot of violence due to political struggles and conflicts between ronin (masterless samurai) and government samurai. In the middle of this chaos, a young orphan named Nio is determined to fight for justice and make the world a better place.

The anime introduces an impressive cast, including Sugita Tomokazu as the Shinsengumi chief, Isami Kondo. New additions include:

The Manga Source

The Blue Wolves of Mibu” started as a manga by Tsuyoshi Yasuda and has been published in Weekly Shonen Magazine since October 2021. Kodansha USA began releasing the English version in Spring 2024. The story follows Nio, who meets two important people: Hijikata Toshizo and Okita Souji, founding members of the Miburo (later called the Shinsengumi). Inspired by their efforts, Nio joins them to help create the world he dreams of.

Tsuyoshi Yasuda, also known for “Days” and “OverDrive,” brings his talent to this historical story. Fans are excited to see the battles of ideals, betrayals, and twists in “The Blue Wolves of Mibu.
