News agency ANI shared a tweet on Twitter and informed about the decision taken by the Tamil Nadu government regarding the caretakers of the elephant.

According to a tweet by news agency ANI, ‘Tamil Nadu government announced Rs 1 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the caretakers of 91 elephants in 2 camps in the state. Also, Rs 9.1 crore has been allocated for the construction of houses for mahouts i.e. those who take care of elephants. The Tamil Nadu government has allocated Rs 5 crore for the development of ‘Elephant Camp’ in Annamalai Tiger Reserve.

In a tweet by news agency ANI, it has been written that, ‘A new Elephant Camp with basic facilities will be built in Coimbatore Chavadi at a cost of Rs 8 crore. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin made this announcement after his documentary ‘The Elephant Whispers’ won an Oscar. The documentary tells the story of Boman and Bailey, a caring couple in the Mudhumalai Tiger Reserve. ,

The 40-minute documentary ‘The Elephant Whispers’ can be viewed on the OTT platform Netflix. This documentary shows how a couple adopts an orphaned elephant and takes care of it like their own child.
