The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses (Suki na Ko ga Megane wo Wasureta), a manga by Koume Fujichika, will receive a television anime adaptation this year, Square Enix announced on Friday. To mark the occasion, Koume created an illustration.

A countdown is being held on the anime’s official website, and it will end on January 31 at 8:00 JST (6:00 a.m. EST).

The manga’s English release from Square Enix Manga & Books provides the following plot summary:

The bespectacled Mie is Komura’s new seat neighbour in homeroom as the school year gets underway. Soon, he develops a passionate crush on his eccentric classmate who frequently forgets her spectacles! While this may be the perfect opportunity for Komura to get to know Mie better, will his weak heart fail under the constant strain of being so near to the girl he likes?
In November 2018, Fujichika published the manga’s first chapter in Square Enix’s Gangan Joker magazine. The 10th compilation book volume of the manga will be released by Square Enix on January 20. Comikey is also publishing the manga in English digitally after obtaining a licence from Square Enix.
