Feeling the People’s Choice Awards dash Many countries

The PCA franchise is expanding with the first-ever People’s Choice Country Awards airing live from the world-famous Grand Ole Opry stage in Nashville on NBC and Peacock in September.

The two-hour ceremony “will lean into the rich relationship between country music and the Opry through chart-topping musical performances, genre-bending collaborations, legendary tributes and surprising moments from the iconic venue’s regular run.”

* Titus Burgess (unbreakable kimmy schmidt), Tommy Dewey (informal) and Siobhan Williams (unreal) have joined good girls creator Jenna Bunce’s untitled NBC drama pilot starring Retta, previously dubbed murder by the bookOur sister site Deadline reports.

*Mayur is developing a biographical series Ali: A Life By Jonathan Eig, about legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, Deadline reports. The eight-part series will be executive-produced bridgerton star reggae-gene page, morgan freeman and kevin willmott (blackklansman), who will also write the script. Using their fights as a baseline, the project will highlight key moments in Ali’s life in and out of the ring.

* Prime Video Sports unveils an official trailer for its new documentary Reggie, which details the life of outspoken American baseball superstar Reggie Jackson. The film is set to premiere on Friday, March 24.

* Roku Channel has released an official trailer for slide, A comic series created by Zoe Lister-Jones (life in pieces, Tired of living in a monotonous marriage, Lister’s character Mae ends up having a one-night stand that transports her to an alternate version of her life. This is the first of many different realities Mei faces on her way to finding herself and finding happiness in her marriage again. Season 1 premieres Friday, April 21.
