People around the world were stunned by Rihanna’s long-awaited return following a soulful rendition of the hit song at the Super Bowl. Not just that, she also announced that she is pregnant with her second child with partner rapper A$AP Rocky. His performance at the Super Bowl halftime show, where the Philadelphia Eagles faced the Kansas City Chiefs, dominated conversation on social media.
Recently, a group of spirited seniors at an assisted-living home in Kentucky, US, recreated a portion of Rihanna’s performance. Many people on the internet said that the seniors did better than the pop icons.
In the 12-second clip posted to Facebook by Arcadia Senior Living Bowling Green, 11 women between the ages of 80 and 92 can be seen dressed entirely in white. Then, a woman dressed in full red appears, holding a microphone and lip-syncing to the lyrics of Rihanna’s ‘Rude Boy’.
The caption of the post read, “Our halftime show > Rihanna’s halftime show.” The post has garnered over a thousand likes and a hundred comments since being shared on the social media platform.
One user said, “They definitely would have been a better halftime show.”
One person commented, “Love it! These beautiful ladies are still living their best lives.”
A third person said, “It was amazing to see. They are having fun.”
“These ladies have some moves,” added another user.
“MUCH BETTER THAN THE ACTUAL HALFTIME SHOW!!” one person commented.
Seniors Martin, Sue Evans and Pat told the New York Post that two 20-something employees at Arcadia Senior Living enthusiastically inspired them to create the now-viral video.
