'When Harry Met Sally,' 'Iron Man' added to film registry

"When Harry Met Sally," "Iron Man," "Carrie," "Cyrano de Bergerac" are on the National Film Registry. 

The registry has been choosing films for preservation based on their cultural and historical significance.

There are now 850 films on the registry, many of them from the library's holdings. "Carrie," "Hairspray,"

"The Little Mermaid," "Cab Calloway Home Movies," "Scorpio Rising,"

and "Titicut Follies" are among the films added to the National Film Registry. A TV special will air on Turner Classic Movies on December 27.
