A television anime adaptation of Yoruhashi’s “The Kingdoms of Ruin” manga was announced on Wednesday, with the reveal of its first key visual on a newly opened website. To celebrate the news, Yoruhashi also drew an illustration.
The main cast of the anime includes Kaito Ishikawa as Adonis and Azumi Waki as Doroka. The anime is being directed by Keitaro Motonaga at Yokohama Animation Lab, with Takamitsu Kouno in charge of the series scripts and Hiromi Kato designing the characters. Miki Sakurai, Shu Kanematsu, and Hanae Nakamura are composing the music for the anime.

The manga series is licensed by Seven Seas, with the sixth volume set to be published in English on May 16th. It tells the story of a world where humanity once lived in harmony with witches, but a scientific revolution has made the use of their powers obsolete. Out of fear and resentment, the world’s greatest nation launches a witch hunt, leading to the death of many witches. Adonis, a witch’s apprentice, vows revenge on the empire that took everything from him. This thrilling manga series explores the conflict between science and magic.
Yoruhashi launched “The Kingdoms of Ruin” in April 2019 in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Garden magazine. The manga can also be found on Manga Doa, Mag Comi, and pixiv Comic websites. The seventh volume was published in September 2022.
