The exciting news about the new Yaiba anime remake is here. The first trailer for the remake has just been released, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come. This trailer not only shows off the sharp new animation but also introduces the main cast and the talented team behind the project.
A Familiar Yet Fresh Cast
The new Yaiba anime, now titled Shin Samurai-den Yaiba”or True Samurai Legend Yaiba, brings back some familiar voices. Minami Takayama, the original voice actress for Yaiba Kurogane, returns to voice the wild samurai boy once again.
Joining her are Manaka Iwami, known for her role as Akane in Oshi no Ko, who will voice Sayaka Mine, and Yoshimasa Hosoya, famous for his role as Reiner in “Attack on Titan,” who will voice Takeshi Onimaru.
A Star-Studded Production Team
The remake is in great hands with Takahiro Hasui, who directed Mob Psycho III, leading the project at WIT Studio. The series composition is handled by Toko Machida, known for Kemono Michi: Rise Up, and Yoshimichi Kameda, who worked on Mob Psycho 100, is in charge of character designs and chief animation direction.
The music will be composed by Yutaka Yamada from VINLAND SAGA and Yoshiaki Dewa from Hell’s Paradise, promising a powerful soundtrack.

Meet the Rest of the Team
The anime remake also features a skilled team of artists and designers. Takeshi Maenami will serve as the sub character designer and main animator, while Hirofumi Masuda takes on the role of special effects director.
The art direction is led by Yusuke Takeda, with Kazushi Fujii as the art designer. Satoshi Hashimoto is the color designer, and Yukinori Nakamura will direct the 3DCG. Toru Fukushi is the director of photography, Kiyoshi Hirose is the editor, and Haru Yamada is the sound director, with sound effects by Eiko Morikawa.
An Epic Storyline
The story of Yaiba follows the adventures of Kurogane Yaiba, a young and wild samurai boy who trains in the jungle with his father, Kenjuro. When Yaiba returns to Japan, he meets his rival, Takeshi Onimaru, who shares the same samurai spirit.
Their rivalry intensifies when Onimaru obtains the Legendary Demon Sword, setting Yaiba on a journey full of thrilling challenges and grand adventures.
