The fourth and final season of the anime, titled Dr. Stone: Science Future, is set to debut in January 2025. This exciting announcement came directly from TOHO animation, along with a special “super teaser” video to give fans a glimpse of what’s to come.

This final season is going to be spread out over three separate cours, which means the episodes will be released in parts, with breaks in between. A Look Back at Dr. Stone’s Journey
The Dr. Stone anime first hit our screens in July 2019. Crunchyroll streamed the original season as it aired, while Funimation took care of the English dub. It also made its way to Toonami in August 2019, making sure fans all over the world could enjoy the show.
The second season, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, came out in January 2021. Similar to the first season, Crunchyroll handled the streaming globally, except in Asia, and Funimation provided an English dub for those who prefer it.
After that, in July 2022, a special one-hour episode called Dr. Stone: Ryusui aired. This special episode kept fans engaged while waiting for the next major season.
Third Season’s Success
In April 2023, the third season, Dr. Stone: New World, premiered. The first part of this season aired in Japan, with Crunchyroll streaming it worldwide. The first cours ended after 11 episodes, but fans didn’t have to wait too long. The second cours premiered in October 2023 and wrapped up with 22 episodes by the end of December 2023.
The Manga’s Journey
Dr. Stone isn’t just an anime; it’s based on a popular manga. The manga was created by Boichi and Riichirou Inagaki, with its first chapter being published in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2017. The series came to a conclusion in March 2022. Fans who prefer reading the story were able to enjoy both digital and print versions, thanks to Viz Media and MANGA Plus, which published the manga in English.
