DAN DA DAN is Back: Check Out the Exciting Teaser for Season 2

The much-loved anime DAN DA DAN is coming up with second season, and we just got our first look at it! A teaser promotional video was revealed during the Jump Festa ’25 event on Saturday. This is super exciting for everyone who loved the first season!

The teaser video is now available and can be streamed with English subtitles by GKIDS. So, if you want a sneak peek of what’s coming, don’t miss it!

What’s more? DAN DA DAN 2nd season is set to launch in July 2025. That’s not too far away! Crunchyroll will be streaming the series as it airs, so you can enjoy it right when it comes out.

If you remember, the first season premiered in Japan on October 3, airing on TBS and MBS’s Super Animeism TURBO programming block. 

Fans around the world could also watch it on Netflix starting the same day. The first season had 12 exciting episodes that kept everyone on the edge of their seats!

For the second season, Fūga Yamashiro and Abel Góngora, who worked on the first season, are back as directors at Science SARU. The original voice cast will also return, bringing familiar characters back to life.

In case you’re not familiar with the story, “DAN DA DAN” follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, who loves everything related to the occult. 

They start talking after Momo helps Okarun when he’s bullied. However, they end up in a fun argument! Momo believes in ghosts but doesn’t think aliens are real, while Okarun believes in aliens but thinks ghosts are just fake.

To prove their beliefs, Momo visits an abandoned hospital where UFOs are said to appear, and Okarun explores a haunted tunnel. What happens next is nothing short of amazing! They each experience mind-blowing paranormal activities. 

As things get intense, Momo discovers her hidden powers, and Okarun gains a curse that helps him face the challenges. And guess what? 

Their adventure sparks a fateful romance too!

The first three episodes had a theatrical screening called “DAN DA DAN: First Encounter” in the U.S., and they made over $1 million! That’s pretty impressive!

The manga, created by Yukinobu Tatsu, is serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service. The 18th volume will be published on January 4, while Viz Media recently released the 10th volume on December 19.
