Dragon Ball Super Fans Hit with Disappointing Manga News: Here’s What’s Happening

Dragon Ball Daima is approaching its grand finale, bringing plenty of surprises along the way. From unexpected transformations to the return of classic power-ups, fans have been eating well.

However, while Daima has been making waves, Dragon Ball Super’s manga has been in a different situation. With Chapter 104 on the horizon, the long-awaited continuation of the series has some frustrating news for those eager to see what’s next after Akira Toriyama’s passing.

A One-Off Chapter With No Clear Future

Dragon Ball Super’s next manga chapter was initially labeled as a “special one-shot,” but that classification has now changed. Instead, it’s officially the 104th chapter of the series.

While that may sound promising, the bad news is that it doesn’t seem to be the start of a new arc. Chapter 105’s release remains uncertain, and fans still have no idea when the manga will return to a regular schedule.

If this next installment is truly just a standalone chapter, it raises questions about what’s next for the Z-Fighters and whether the series has a solid future ahead.

The Post-Toriyama Era of Dragon Ball Super

Akira Toriyama was instrumental in shaping Dragon Ball Super, working alongside artist Toyotaro to craft the series’ major storylines, including the Moro and Granolah arcs.

Now, with Toriyama’s passing, Toyotaro appears to be leading the charge. The big question is: where does the story go from here? One of the biggest loose ends is Frieza, who unveiled his terrifying Black Frieza transformation in the Granolah arc.

With his overwhelming strength allowing him to defeat both Goku and Vegeta with a single strike, fans have been waiting for answers on his next move. Sadly, there’s no indication that the upcoming chapter will touch on this storyline, leaving the future of Dragon Ball Super uncertain.

Could Dragon Ball Daima Influence Super’s Next Arc?

Dragon Ball Daima has expanded the series’ lore with the introduction of the Demon Realm and a variety of new transformations. With Super Saiyan 4 making a grand return in the series, fans are speculating whether Dragon Ball Super could integrate some of these elements. The franchise has already toyed with the idea in Dragon Ball Heroes, but the main series has yet to dive into it. If Super does return for a full-fledged arc, it has the perfect opportunity to explore these ideas and give fans the explosive battles they crave.

For now, Dragon Ball Super’s manga remains in limbo. With Chapter 104 serving as a standalone installment, the wait for a true continuation continues.
