It appears like Patti LuPone will join Disney+.The Tony-winning actress has reportedly joined the cast of Marvel’s upcoming WandaVision spinoff, Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
Together with Joe Locke, the series’ male lead, and Kathryn Hahn, who plays Agatha, LuPone completes the cast. Sasheer Zamata has reportedly joined the cast, along with Ali Ahn and Maria Dizzia, who will play witches, Aubrey Plaza, who is reportedly portraying a villain, and others. Along with Hahn, Emma Caulfield Ford is anticipated to return as WandaVision’s Dottie.
Although the specifics of LuPone’s rumored role are unknown, it’s probable that she’ll add some of her musical theater firepower to the already stellar cast.
In a November interview with ET, Hahn expressed excitement for the much awaited new show.
When asked what she could make fun of about the spinoff, Hahn responded, “Witches, witches, witches, witches.” I’m pretty enthusiastic about it.
“I’m very excited for you to see it,” she concluded.
In the same month, Disney tweeted updates on numerous other Marvel programs and revealed that Hahn would be playing the lead in the spinoff series.
Disney announced on Twitter that “Marvel Studios’ Agatha: House of Harkness, an Original Series, is coming soon to #DisneyPlus.”
Sources who worked on the program characterized it to Variety as a dark comedy, with executive producer and head writer Jac Schaeffer of WandaVision at the helm.
Agatha was imprisoned in Westview by Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) in the WandaVision finale, which showed her utilizing her abilities to transform Agatha back into her Agnes persona. Olsen and Hahn received Emmy nominations for the show for their outstanding performances.
