Akshay Kumar reacts to consecutive flops, says ‘Don’t blame the audience or anyone else, it’s 100% my fault’ | hindi movie news

Akshay Kumar is facing some tough luck at the box office as his films are tanking back to back at the box office. The latest to perform disappointingly at the cash register is Selfie which opened with a disappointing collection of Rs 2.5 crore. This is probably the lowest opening for the Akshay starrer since 2009.
At a recent event, Akshay said that when his films don’t take off one after the other, it is time to sit down, reflect and change.

When asked about four consecutive flops, Akshay told Aaj Tak that this is not happening for the first time. There was a time in his career when his 16 consecutive films flopped. There was another occasion when his eight consecutive films flopped.
Akshay remarks that it happens because of ‘your fault’. As the audience has changed, the stars need to change too. He said that when your films flop continuously, then it is an alarm of change for you. ,I’m trying, that’s all I can do (I’m trying to change, that’s all I can do). Don’t blame the audience or anyone else. It’s my fault, 100%,” he said.

After a poor opening for Selfie, netizens are questioning Akshay’s choice of films as he has had back-to-back flops in the recent past including Bachchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan and Ram Setu. Next, he has films like OMG: Oh My God 2, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Soorarai Pottru Remake, Capsule Gill, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Hera Pheri 4 in the pipeline.
