Bittu Varghese resigns as CFO of Sula Vineyards

The company will relieve him of his duties with effect from June 9, the statement said.

Sula Vineyards, one of the largest wineries in the country, announced the resignation of the company’s chief financial officer, Bittu Varghese. Verghese offered his resignation on Friday, 10 March.

In its exchange filing dated March 11, the winery said, “Pursuant to Regulation 30 and other applicable provisions of the Listing Regulations, we inform you that Mr. Bittu Varghese, Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel of the Company will retire on March 10, 2023.” has tendered his resignation from the services of the Company to pursue his professional interests outside Sula.

The company will relieve him of his duties with effect from June 9, the statement said.

It added, “The company is in the process of appointing a new Chief Financial Officer and the same will be informed to the stock exchanges in due course.”

Varghese took over as CFO of Sula Vineyards in 2019 and headed the finance department, leading the winery to a successful IPO on December 12, 2022. Prior to this, he has also worked with French spirits group Pernod Ricard.

During the December quarter, the country’s lone listed liquor maker’s revenue grew 14.5 per cent year-on-year to Rs 209.1 crore, as against Rs 182.7 crore in the year-ago quarter. Its PAT (profit after tax) for the third quarter of FY23 stood at Rs 39 crore, up 16 per cent over the same quarter a year ago.

In Friday’s trading session, the company’s share price closed at Rs 355.20, down 0.98 per cent.
