Nitesh Pandey, a renowned actor known for his roles in Om Shanti Om and Anupamaa, tragically passed away due to a severe cardiac arrest. The symptoms and individuals susceptible to this condition are important to recognize.
The untimely demise of popular television actor Nitesh Pandey, who portrayed Dheeraj Kumar in Anupamaa, occurred on Wednesday as a result of a sudden cardiac arrest. This unfortunate event has sent shockwaves through the Indian entertainment industry, as it has witnessed several notable figures succumb to cardiac arrests in recent times. The increasing number of fatalities from such heart-related incidents serves as a reminder for us to prioritize our heart health.
According to media reports, the 51-year-old actor, also known for his role in the film Om Shanti Om, succumbed to the cardiac arrest immediately after its occurrence. He was discovered lifeless in his hotel room in Igatpuri, Nashik, Maharashtra. This news adds to the somber atmosphere following the sudden deaths of two other television actors, Vaibhavi Upadhyaya and Aditya Singh Rajput, due to unrelated causes.
Sudden cardiac death (SCD) refers to natural fatalities resulting from cardiac causes, characterized by an abrupt loss of consciousness within one hour of a sudden cardiovascular change. We have recently witnessed a surge in SCD cases, particularly among younger patients. The primary causes include coronary artery blockage leading to a massive heart attack and heart rhythm disorders. Although there are other less common causes, the rising instances of cardiac arrests after recovering from Covid-19 also demand evaluation and further research, as emphasized by Dr. Prateek Chaudhary, a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Asian Hospital, Faridabad, Haryana.
Not only through personal practice experience, but also as revealed in a recent report published by the Indian Medical Association, it has become evident that Indians are experiencing heart disease at an earlier age, nearly 33 percent earlier than individuals from other demographics. Contributing factors to this trend may include a sedentary lifestyle, smoking, obesity, and psychological stress. While Indians may be physiologically predisposed to heart attacks, there are numerous measures we can take as individuals to safeguard our heart health, as emphasized by Dr. Kartik Bhosle, a Consultant Cardiologist at Surya Mother and Child Super Speciality Hospital, Pune.
