The role of the royal Kate Middleton is growing.
According to the Evening Standard, which cited the Buckingham Palace, the 40-year-old has been appointed an honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, a title that was previously given to her husband Prince William more than ten years ago. This comes three months after being given the title of Princess of Wales by King Charles III. William served as the first Royal Colonel of the Irish Guards.
According to the news source, William will now take Charles’ position as Colonel of the Welsh Guards. Prince Andrew stepped down from his position as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards in January after being stripped of all military ties and royal patronage, and his wife Queen Consort Camilla has since been named in his place.
The Palace also revealed that Charles’ birthday procession, officially known as Trooping the Colour, will take place on June 17, 2023, barely six weeks after his anticipated coronation. The King and his son William will ride on horseback during the major celebration of the armed forces, which will include more than 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians.

Charles will participate in his first Trooping the Colour since taking the throne from his late mother Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on September 8 at the age of 96. The event is customarily held in a warm month, regardless of the monarch’s actual birthday.
The late Queen was recently remembered at a Christmas carol service held at Westminster Abbey in London. William and Kate, together with their older children Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7, visited Charles and Camilla on December 15 for a joyful event that included a Christmas tree decorated with Paddington Bear ornaments in Her Majesty’s honor.
The Prince and Princess of Wales expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the event’s exceptional atmosphere in a post on social media. “Celebrating amazing people and outstanding organizations with you all was wonderful.”
