A spokesperson for the actor refuted the claim and said that the property was in his mother’s name.
Mumbai:
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife Aaliya (Zainab) on Friday claimed that the actor has thrown her and their two children out of their house.
A spokesperson for the actor denied the claim and said that since the property was in his mother’s name, he was deprived of the power to decide anyone’s entry into it.
In a series of videos posted on Instagram, Alia said the actor deputized guards to “not let us in”. “…after staying in the house for 40 days I came out because the officials of Versova police station called me immediately…but when I went back home with my children Nawazuddin Siddiqui had deputed several guards so that inside Na aane doon humne (sic) mein,” she captioned the video. In the clip, the actor’s 12-year-old daughter can be seen crying, while the couple’s 7-year-old son stands by his mother.
At present, no case has been registered with the police. Some videos circulating on social media also showed the actor trying to meet his ailing mother, but was stopped by his brother Faizuddin.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s spokesperson said in a statement that the caretaker of the actor’s mother Mehrunisa Siddiqui said that only her grandson is allowed in the property and no one else as the property now belongs to her.
Last month, the Bombay High Court advised Nawazuddin and his estranged wife to try and resolve their differences amicably over their two minor children.
Mr Siddiqui had moved the HC with a habeas corpus (produce person) petition, seeking a direction to his wife to disclose the whereabouts of their children.
